my engine is bogging down!!!
i have a 95 f150 5.8 and every time i start it it acts really sluggish and i don't know why. the check engine light does not come on so i don't really know where to start. iam going to try to try and find a vacum leak but i dont know if that is the problem. if you have any ideas let me know thanks. i want to know if some how my computer is shot and that is why my check engine light does not come on.

more info is needed... Other symptoms? Does this happen after it warms up? Have you replaced anything like the spark plugs, wires, things of that nature? Is it getting plenty of gas?

well it normally does not happen when it warms up but it does from time to time. i have not done the spark plugs yet but that might be next. i think it is getting to much gas. but i can't be sure??? it just not as peppy as it used to be. still wanting to know why my check engine light does not come on?

Your check engine light will only come on if one of the sensors is throwing the wrong voltage to the computer. You may have a bad sensor. How's your gas mileage? Is smoke coming out the exhaust, or is it running too lean?

There are some interesting posts about using seafoam through the vacuum system at the brake booster to clean out carbon and varnish in the intake and valves. I tried it today and it seemed to help mine. Check out a search on seafoam and you'll see what I mean.
