Lifting 03 Expy

Has anyone raised/lifted their 03 or later Expy? I love the truck, but hate the ground clearance, especially the front end. Curious how it looks if lifted yet still using standard tire sizes, also. Thanks!

I have the Truxxx spacer kit on my '03. It's a simple bolt-on kit that just mounts to the top of your coilover assembly. It's advertised as 3" front and 2" rear, but I think I got about 1/4" more in front and a little less in the rear. Overall it still sits very level, with maybe a slight slant towards the front, definately less nose-down than stock, and not the nose-up California baja look either. I am running 33's and I think it looks great. Even running stock it is not so big as to look odd. I think it would look similar to the older generation 4x4's, a little higher than a 4x2.

There are several spacer kits available, Daystar, EZ-Lift, etc. Most are really made for the F-150, so they are front only kits, since the rear of the F-150 is a different set-up than the Expy. The Daystar has a 2" front and rear kit, but it is a different type of spacer kit which requires diassembling the coilover and putting the spacers in between the spring and the cup.

The Truxx kit is the only kit I know of that was made specifically for the Expedition, and it is the biggest lift available.
So basically, if you want front and rear the Truxxx and Daystar are your only options, unless someone else has come up with something since I was looking a few months ago. The Truxxx is a little pricey compared to the Daystar, but I got mine a lot cheaper than what is listed as MSRP on the Truxxx website. The Daystar is less but it requires a lot more in installation. If you can do the work yourself the Truxxx install would be WAY easier. If you were to pay someone to install the Daystar kit you would spend more than the Truxxx kit anyways.

There are pics in my gallery of what it looks like with the lift and 33's.

If you really want to go big, the only full suspension lift I know of is made by Rize Industries in El Cajon, CA, and I'm not even sure if they have released it yet. It's a full 8" lift that replaces pretty much all of your suspension components (read: very expensive).
No one else wants to even mess with the new Expy because of the IRS.
