Brake booster
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, install the Brake power booster with brake master cylinder off a 1978 - 1979 F350 2wd truck. Can be bought as a complete set (booster and master cylinder) with our sponsors, National Parts Depot, Jeff Bronco Graveyard, Autokrafters, Blue Oval Truck Parts to name a few.. The F350 master cylinder will have the brake line ports facing away from the engine.
You can find the brake line adapters if needed at most Auto parts store, these brake line adapter fittings will fit over your current brake line and with a flaring tool, flare the brake line with the correct brake line adapter and it will bolt rignt into the master brake cylinder. That is what I did.
Some 2wd and 4 wd trucks have the bracket / linkages setup. The plunger on back of brake power booster are smaller in length, on the booster which have the bracket / linkages setup. The setup on your truck has a longer plunger (bolts to brake pedal and plunger extends to the brake power booster).
With the brake master cylinder removed set the pushrod to specifications, https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/displayimage.ph...d=94721&width=0
Process of bleeding brakes - Use an old push rod or something that is long and has a round point, when bench bleeding your brake master cylinder. Make the master cylinder reservoir is about 3/4 full of clean brake fluid, and the two rubber hose coming out of the the holes on master cylinder are submersed in the brake fluid during the whole bench bled process. Push in the piston on master cylinder till it bottoms out, there should be no air coming out of the hoses when you have completed bench bleed process. Process should take about 45 minutes.
