First off I want to thank everyone who replied to my weatherstripping question. I ordered the kit from blue oval truck parts. Anyway next question. My 77 trailer special with a 460 auto, came in the custom package, so kinda plain. I would like to add the side body chrome (not racetrack) and the rocker panel chrome. Can this be done pretty easy or would some of you who have tried it not recommended it. I really do appreciate all info i get off this site.
THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!!!
Hi, I put most of the chrome on my self. Got it mostly from the bone yards and a little from ebay. The hardest thing is to drill a hole in your truck, but after the frist one the rest are easy,HA. You have to drill for a pop rivet and a clip, getting them lined up is about as hard as it gets. I am looking for the lower now too. Can not have enough chrome. Erv
Yeah you can buy the $600 package from LMC Truck or similar aftermarket manufacturer OR you can pull the trim from junkyards. I'm getting my trim from the junkyards piece by piece as I find good ones. Saves a ton of money. I'm not putting the trim on yet, I will after I get a new paintjob, but I'll probably end up drilling holes and using rivets like Ervin mentioned.
