I have seen a few trucks (76-77 4x4s) that have a bar going from the back of the divorced T-case to the frame or somewhere (didnt get a close look). I am wondering if these are factory or otherwise? I have 75 and it doesnt have one, it seems to me I should have one. Anybody know anything about these???

I don't know much about them first hand, but I understand that Ford did install these as an option on the 73-79 series trucks. I'm not certain on any of the details though.

Some did come stock, I saw one at a yard once. They aren't the hard to make. I would but one of those turnbuckles on it of adjustment.
I understand the point of this bar is to keep the TC from popping out of gear upon flex of the truck. The factory manual has a way to adjust the shifter linkage and if not done right, it can cause it to not go into gear or pop out.
I have pictures from one that was made for the older F250 and it just took piece of angle iron and drilled holes to line up to the bolts on the rear drive line seal plate and bolted to the frame. Again I would opt for an adjustment type, either a threaded pipe with two nuts or a turnbuckle.
My '73 has the origanal stabalizer bar. It bolts to the T-case with the three lower bolts that hold the Front output shaft BACK cover on. then it goes back and up to the frame. There are rubber isolation bushing to give a little dampning. there are three holes at the bracket on the T-case to adjust the length. not too precise but I suppose it worked for Ford.
