Howdy yall, I have a strange problem on my 93 F-350 7.5L/460. my truck has 245,000 miles on it but it still hauls *** when working right. Ok I'm having an acceleration problem, when I accelerate it seems like the fuel filter is clogged and it looses power almost like its running out of fuel. Filter and front fuel pump is fairly new also new cap and rotor so im kinda eliminating those for now. Im leaning to an ICM or coil issue , maybe even an EEC starting to go but it starts everytime fine. I have noticed the issue seems to be when its warmed up I havent seen it do it cold. When it happens If I stomp on it, it will act like its boging down until it gets past the issue then its fine. The reason I think its not a fuel delivery issue is, I can be on the interstate cruising at 80 mph and its fine, the motor only seems to do it when its put under a load , if I take the truck out of gear while its boging under load it goes away and runs fine. Any help while house bound would be great thanks. Cow
Quick, I replaced sensor about 25k but its reading ok but im still replacing it for own safety. As for codes the only one was showing the map sensor but its becasue I unplugged it a day or so before I ran the codes test. It did also show the temp sending out of range so I'm changing it to be safe. As for wires they are about 1 1/2 years old or so plugs about same but they are platinums and I heat them good and last set I pulled out were 4 years old with 90k miles on them and in great shape. Heres a hoot for ya Quick I never had a "check engine" light ever come on until about two hours after going for parts it came on until I shut off truck 20 minutes later. I haven't restarted truck to see if its still on or not but I'll let ya know. Cow
"temp sending out of range" This usually means that your engine is cold and not warmed up yet but the sensor is OK. You need to bring you engine up to normal operating temperature to get a clean report on codes.
