Speedometer

I have a '72 F-100 Custom Sport which just recently lost the function of the speedometer while driving down the road. Any helpful hints or suggestions before I start looking into the problem to get it working again.

More than likely the cable inside the plastic sheathing broke. This happens when the cable is not kept lubricated. The fix is simple and a whole new cable assembly is only about $10. Just unplug from behind the dash and unplug at the transmission and install the new cable.

Also if the ends are intact, try using a drill in reverse mode,
on the transmission end, and see if the speedo moves.
If not, you can pick one up from a salvage yard pretty cheap.
