Quieter 7.3s??
I know that the 7.3 had a noise reduction for the 2003 model year. Any of you guys know what was done to make the truck quieter and if the quietness can be reversed? I kind of like noise 
. Just curious because I might upgrade to one from my '00 in 2007.

Nah no chips for me. I have a 2000 right now with 149K, but I'd like an '03 with lower miles next year. I know they're quieter by a little bit (the 03s), but I'm wondering if that quietness can be reversed somehow. Wish I knew what Ford changed.

I don't know what Ford did to quiet the engine for 2003, other than possibly more insulation on some things. Things to help quiet the engine on a 2000, a SS HPX line and the pre-pump & in-tank mods.
