Add-a-leaf install

does anyone know where some good instructions are (or can post good instructions) for installing rough country add-a-leafs to the front of a 99 superduty. I ordered them in the middle of the week, so I am looking to install them during spring break next week. Also, I was told I wouldn't need new U bots. Is this true. THANKS!

Did you try a search? I know I have read a couple good sets of instructions on installing add-a-leaves.... and actually I think I wrote it out for someone a long time ago - let me see if I can find it..

and you don't NEED new U-bolts, as the stock ones are long enough for adding ONE leaf - but I believe that most people say that you should not re-use them.... IMO - they are pretty darn important - and I'd just get new ones - they really aren't that expensive

i have been searching since i've found this ,and i've only found instructions for the rear. however the fronts are similar. you don't need to disassemble the packs as far as i know, as it is only two leaves, and you just put the AAL on the bottom and compress that to the bottom of the leaves. then when they are compressed, you can put them back in and get the u bolts started. those front springs are surprisingly heavy. and to get them off, you need to have alot off the front.

be safe. i suported the front of the truck with jackstands on stacked 2x8's, to raise it up some. i positioned the stands just rear of the shackle mounting points at the frame. alot of weight hanging off of the front.

EDIT- forgot the link, dummy.

I ordered mine off of E-bay. Rough county's for 72.00 plus 12 s&h. They are in a store that just specializes in lifts. Thanks for the help guys. Where can I pick up new u-bolts, about how much do they cost, and will stock replacements work or do I need longer ones?
