Hello All, Does anyone know where to purchase a
bedliner for a 64 shortbed? Formfitting, not spray
on. I'm having more trouble than I care to admit.
Thank you ....wayne
Longbed, shortbed, or stepside?
I have a longbed one I'd be happy to part with. I see you're in MD. I'm in south central PA. If you've got a longbed, I can make you happy.
Wayne, bedliners are not glove fit. I urge you to get your tape measure out and take LxWxH measurements. You may be surprised with what you find and how many years might work. There isn't enough demand for the manufacturer to verify each app.
Heck I see those bed liners on the side of the road all the time. That is reason 1 I wouldn't spend my money on one. Second is it wears the paint off the bed and traps water and causes rust.
Spray in liners are the best and you can get them color coated to match your paint.
Sprayin liners also seem to cut some of the road noise. The last slide in I had did not fit "exactly" and it seemed to echo everything. The other issue I had is that with the slide in liner everything went sliding around, and what a mess if I didnt remember to keep the tailgate closed.
As jd said the best way to go is with a spray on bedliner, yes it can be color matched to match your paint. I met up with a company that will do graffix wich is way Kooool but expensive. The only thing with color spray on is the sun, in time the sun will fade the color, so you have to keep covered when exposed to sun for long periods of time.
That is definately my next step. What to worry about befor applying is how do you want it to look, Over the bed, or up to the top of the bed. make sure you don't spray over the bed bolts.

1 more option. I used boat decking from A Marine store. It comes as 1ft.x1ft. squares in a variety of colors and can be cut to any shape you want. It's pretty tuff stuff and the total cost was about what you'd pay for one of the other nice liners. It has holes in it so water will evaporate and not rust out your bed. You can see it in one of the pics in my gallery.
