Talking gauges

i have a 93 150 with a five speed with no tac does any one know if you can switch over to the gauge cluster with the tac if you can how hard is it to do?

I'm pretty sure you can, but I forget how hard it is. I want to say that both plug into the same harness. You could always go aftermarket on the tach as well. I'm thinking a big six inch like those ricers have, shift light and everything...Just kidding.

will the harness have the hook up for it?

Not sure, but it makes sense that it would. To have two seperate wiring harnesses for the tach and for no tach seems like an added expense. Probably your gauge cluster just doesn't use those pins on the stock harness.

It is best to stay with the same year for a cluster swap, and to test the battery voltage with engine off and running before and after the swap. Several people have had problems with the alternator not charging the battery after a cluster swap. All the wiring is present, but different years have slightly different cuircit boards. Everything appears to work until the battery is dead. Somewhere in the forums I saw a list of years that could be used interchangeably. 90 & 91 are ok, but that is the only one I remember.
