my 76 f-100 has no hazard or brake lights on the left side only.Turn signal works and i tested the flashers already and also the ground.Didnt find any broken wires when i traced them.Replaced light unit and still the same problem.Any suggestions?
See if it will work if lift up on the turn signal switch. This switch is notorious for causing this kind of problem. I got one out of a ford van and installed in mine. Just a little bit of fun. cost $5.00 I priced a new switch was too pricey for me.

i will try that thanks.I replaced the whole switch a while back along with the column to put in power steering..Yea (FUN) was the word I would use...along with two others mf
The last time I had my steering wheel off, when I pulled it ( by hand) I gave myself a black eye. Think I will use the puller from now on. I had pulled it like that about 4 times before,,,but ouch. So I do use the word fun loosely.
Has it had this problem , since the change out or just recently?
all the wiring for the flashers and your brake lights run thru that switch.

Bill I had a problem with a left tail not blinking, and could trace the line all the way to the column and no pulse. I pulled the wheel and sprayed the switch with carb cleaner,(didn't have any electrical aerosol spray) and it has been working fine every since.

Bill! Carefully inspect the wiring harness from the four way over to the TS wiring connectors. There will be two square plugs there, one from the TS and one from the flasher. I had the same problem and it was the wiring harness or the four way switch. They are an assembly. Replaced it and the problem went away. I am tempted to try using one of the new switches with the four way on the column. It is a little black pull button and would not be visible. You would need to drill a small hole in the collar for the button. This would get you out of the old wiring and into the new! Maybe when I have some time....

well i fixed it in time 4 inspection also (bonus). It was the new brake switch i had put on a few months ago.It had a short in it.Needless to say it was the last thing i checked cause it was new.Went through everything including pulling the wheel off to double check items that were replaced when i went to power steering. Thanks to all and check that new part FIRST and save some headaches..........Bill 76 Ford 302 Rv cam,Mustang 3 speed zzzzoooooommmmmm and peddle leftover
