Question Overhead Pod..

I'm wanting to run a triple gauge overhead mount setup on my 2005 LARIAT PSD, boost, pyro., and tranny temp., I have the pod for them (so it can be painted tan to match), but after doing a trial fit, I don't see anyway possible that it will fit where it's intended to go! Mine has the auto-dimming mirror, and also the compass pod (attached beneath on mirror mouniting arm). I can get pod shoved into place, but mirror will not 'swing' back up into place.
I DO NOT want to relocate the mirror mounting tab, since the top of windshield has a tinted "eyebrow" film applied to it. I'm not too keen on the whole A-pillar thing either since it does away w/ the grab handle, but since the AMP research steps are on now, that's not such an issue.
Anyone have pics or tips as to how they have gotten their's into place? I'd really like to run this setup, and the supplier says that they've never been asked about issues w/ these '05s, only familiar w/ the '04s! hmm.... Maybe Mark at DPP can and will chime in?!?!?

Tight Fit

I know that on my 04 Lariat the pod is a very tight fit with the mirror. I don't have an autodimming mirror, though. I had to set my manual "day/night" level such that I tipped the mirror down when it needed to be flipped. I also had to lower my seat slightly so that I could get the right angle to see out of the back of the truck and not into the bed.

big ride,

You have to trim the back side of the mount for the wiring harness to pass beneath the mount, then it should fit right up. Look at the back of it and you'll see what I mean.

Thank you Mark for your response above. I do realize that the 'pre-formed' notch needs to be trimmed in order for the wiring harness to pass through, but even still there just isn't enough room to accomodate the cluster between the headliner and the top leading edge of the mirror.....

My only solution (so far), without relocating mirror mounting tab; is to actually 'notch' the arm that the mirror head swivels on at the base of the ball socket, allowing the mirror to swing down out of the way more. Maybe A-Pillars AREN'T so bad... lol

If anyone has any pics, I'd appreciate them, been to various sites and seen some, but none of THOSE are on the 2005 models. Also, could someone post some of their measurements here..... as far as the distance from bottom of headliner down to top of bracket that is glued to the windshield? If so, tyvm in advance!!!

big ride,

Ok you have one of the trucks that has the mirror placed in a position that isn't the "norm". We see this every 100 or so trucks. All you need to do is remove the mirror mount, and get a 5.00 glue kit from the parts store and re glue it.
