I have a 1993 Ford F250 7.3 non turbo diesel IDI. My injector pump went bad, and my friend took of the pump and the housing it bolts to off. I know thats not how we were supposed to do that in the first place. Now I have everything bolted together, but not on the truck because how do I know how to line up the two gears... PLease help
I think I found your answer in my Haynes teck book. Look for two "Y" marks on the camshaft gear and injection pump drive gear. they should be together. Then you should put the housing on. Then the IP fits into a alignment dowel.

The Y in the cam gear will be hard to see.
The Y on the cam gear should be at a valley in the gear teeth.
The Y on the IP drive gear should be by a tooth.
The teeth tops should be dyed on both sides of the groove the IP drive gear tooth will go between.
You will probably have to disassemble the IP assembly to see down inside to set the gear.
