question about wheel size

I'm hoping for some input about this. I am constantly on Ford's Website " Build a Truck" since I would like to replace my 95 F150 with perhaps a 2007 model when they become available. Besides appearance, is there a difference in the ride between 18" wheels and the 20" wheels offered in the Lariat model? I would occassionally do very light towing ( under 2,000 pounds) and mostly highway driving. I definitely like the appearance that the 20" wheels give, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money. Any feedback is appreciated.

Well there will be a tow rating difference between the two rim/tires choices. Frankly, I dont think a 20" belongs anywhere near a truck, but thats just my opinion. I use my truck for work around the farm, and off the beaten path. 20" rims wont cut it. You should also expect a harsher ride with the lower profile tires. Also, with larger rims, there is more rotating mass, which can effect both acceleration and braking times/distances.

wheelMa1, thank you for your reply. I have truly learned so much since visiting this web site, and after viewing alot of your posts I know I can trust your judgement. So it's a done deal - 20" is out, but I have to go with the 18". The 17" just look too small for my taste.
