Aftermarket interiors????
Can anyone tell me who makes good, and I mean good, interior parts like dashes, door panels, carpets, etc? I know I can order them from J.C. Whitney and a few other companies. Does anyone have any personal experience with any particular supplier. Prices seem to be similar, but are the products? Thanks in advance.

You may want to look at >>
www.autokrafters.com
I have bought from them (only exterior parts) and they have been good..
I prefer to go to the local upholster to pick and choose what I want.
I have ordered basic black carpet at a good price and was it worth it ...YES

Aftermarket interiors????
Yeah, duh??!! Sorry. My truck is a 1975 F-150 with a factory 460 and C6 tranny. The deal is, it's butt-ugly green inside and out. Everything on it is nice, but definitely not my color. I'm going to buy everything from carpet, to door panels, to dash, to headliner and I'm going to paint the interior as well as the exterior. I have to get rid of the green. Ughhh!

My .02 cents worth. Some new old stock pieces are available from Obsolete Ford Parts, Dennis Carpenter etc. but they are outrageously expensive. I used coverlay door panels fromm JC Whitney and they are good. Not quite exact match but real close. You can dye them with vinyl spray if they don't have your color. I took my dash to a local shop and the put new foam pad and vinyl to match the seats on it and that works good. I used a Qualititex (not sure of spelling) seat. It is nice but would fit in a van easier. I had to remove a bunch of spacers to get low enough.

[font color=red size=3]I went a cheaper route on my '73. It had the factory brown interior, I didn't like it. So I sanded, primed and painted it black. I am very happy with the results (for only costing about $20). I painted right over the door panels, dash pad, and headliner (and of course all the metal). It still looks good after 3 years. The only worn place is the armrests.
If you want a custom look, search the message boards for 'door panel' or 'door upholstery', I know there is a thread about making custom panels.
Just a thought.

Aftermarket interiors????
I've been working on my 79 Ford interior: Didn't like the JC Whitney door panels, they put the fastners on the outside and it looks ugly. I'm going to get some from AutoKrafters, they have reproduction ones that are same as stock and are cheaper than JC. AK has a set on Ebay right now for 74.99 (they had a new black dash last week for $140). I had my seat redone locally at an auto apolstry shop. I ordered my carpet from Auto Custom Carpets (ACC), very pleased with it, it fit perfect. Got some window channel from JC Whitney and was not pleased with it, it was too thick and didn't fit properly. Got some door seals also from JC and I have to slam my doors like a madman to get them to close (seals too thick). Other odds and ends from my local Ford truck salvage yard. Good luck!
