e-85 in ffv 4.0 explorer
does anyone have any experience or info on running e-85 in their 4.0? i just bought a 2003 explorer xlt and heard milage isnt as good and you should run the tank down most of the way before refilling, but dont know why. also , plugs need to be changed sooner. are there any other drawbacks to running e-85? any other problems that show up? any comments are appreciated

You will experience less fuel economy using E85. I never heard about running the tank empty, conventional wisdom would disagree with that - you'll clog fuel filters quicker. I believe there is some maintenance that needs to be done more frequently and you might have to use a certain type of oil, unless that has changed - the old Taurus FFV required different oil.
