Aloha All,

Hi evryone,
This is my first post and its a question for anyone who might know. I have a 1974 F350 1 ton. I need to know how heavy of a load I can tow from my rear bumper mounted ball hitch. I appreciate any knowledge any of you may share regarding this topic.

Thanks

You would be able to tow ALOT more with a class 5 hitch mounted to the frame. I dont know what rear bumper you have, but most rear step bumpers are rated at 800-1000lbs tonque weight and 5000lbs gross.

Well you have to stop too !

Unless that miniscule trailer has brakes then 1000 lbs.

Bumper hitches are made for those Light duty loads.

Check and see what a Class II hitch covers for weight.

he's talking tongue weight, that is the weight pushing down on the hitch. Most of the tow bumpers I've had have been pretty lightweight. I use a frame mounted reciever on all my trucks.
