tavh wiring

hey im putting my tach on my truck and i posted about two months earlier about which wires go where and so far i got Red=power source, black=ground, and green= -side of my ignition coil...but my only problem is that my tach also has a yellow wire which i don't know where this goes...any ideas...

Just a thought, could the yellow wire be for the light bulb. That's assuming that it is indeed illuminated. Steve

it has a shift light...so i guess that would be considerd a light bulb. Would i connect that to my power source with the red wire

Cole, The yellow should be for the "dash" light. You can take the back off and see where it goes, or touch it to a 12V hot wire and see if the lamp lights.

My guess any shift light would have to operate off the green wire, since it picks up the signal for the rpms.

Lucky me, mine has the dial on it and I set it for 4000 rpms, and only run it to that range in second. aint got enough hair on my butt to go there in third.
