Wally world where I live has one cart return thingy in each parking row. Right at the beginning of the row. If you don't get in to the store before noon, chances are good you'll be parking 300 to 400 yards from the thing. When I unload the cart, it stays right next to my truck. If the Wally employees don't like it, let them fix it.
I've talked to the manager about that and other problems I've experienced and the impression I get is if it doesn't come out of the manager's pocket, he could care less.

Watch out sharing stuff like that, it says a lot for your personality. It probably also means that you throw trash on the ground.

LMFAO!!!! I knew all that stuff just by seeing that post. God forbid we leave our carts where it may strike someones mall queen and leave a scratch. If you dont want scratches on your ride, leave it in the garage and stare at it, dont bring it to Wally World. I buy cars to be used and serve me, not be a driveway decoration, if they get dented along the way, oh well.

Im in the crowd that leaves it where i get done with it. However, if there is a curb or island close by, i will either put up on it, or lock the front cart wheels over it to keep it from rolling. Otherwise, it stays where i get done with it. If they wanted them in the cart thing, they would put more around. Im not going to walk around the most filthy, disorganized store in the country, and then politely walk another 75 yards to put the cart up. They have cart pushers for that, im helping create/keep jobs. As for vehicle damage, if i park near one, ill move it to somewhere else, or use it, whatever. Others are welcome to do the same.

When I go shopping, I drive my truck. If it gets bent, dinged, scratched, or dirty big deal. Truth is, at our wally world, if you take the cart to the cart rack, eventually the whole front of the store is crowded with carts and there's no way to you can drive to the front of the store to pick someone up.

and I don't throw trash on the ground... I drive a pickup.

well, the question was "is anyone else annoyed by this" so if you knew how to read, you would understand that if you are not annoyed by it, then no reason to respond unless you had some positive input to the conversation.

i have a life,(i will pm my bio if you need it), right now i am under going chemo, so being bed ridden with a computer, some thoughts cross my mind, hence why i posted it in the general non-automotive section of this forum.

the purpose of the forum thread is for non serious stuff, a shopping cart left out is to me the least of my worries in life. if i wanted serious stuff, than i would go on those political type forums, which i don't.

so relax a little, no one is proposing banning shopping carts from the world, i never had one make a single mark on my truck.

as for an answer, i care about it making a mark on my truck, it should be up to me how and why a mark happened, not some retard who could care less about his ride and care even less about somebody else's property.

jeez, so serious here, it must be spring!!! ROAR!!!!!!!!!

I am reminded of an SNL news item that said
"Wal-mart has decided to begin retocking the morning after pill after it realized what kind of people shop at wal-mart."

Likewise, if i had a vehicle that was so nice i couldnt handle a ding, well, i probably wouldnt have a need to shop at wal mart. But, yeah, on a windy day, its somewhat frightening and comedic to see a cart sailing through the lot on its crash course with a vehicle.

I am !

If people just leave them they can cause all sorts of problems for others.

IMO, not enough people care about others. If they did life would be a lot easier to live

I have at least 4 shopping cart dents on my truck from IDIOTS that don't take care of them properly.

For those people, Get some brains

I dislike it so much I walk the cart either to the Cart Corral or back into the store, and if there are other carts that are causing problems, I push them in as well

Why ? Because I need the exercise & of course , I'm One in a Million

As far as that woman with the Caddie.

I would have told her that if she leaves without any offer you now fix your vehicle, let her know that HER car won't look the same when she gets back

This gets her mind all screwy if she leaves ..

I would have Called the police and have them investigate and MAKE her pay for the damage.
I had an idiot I worked with do this to me back in 1973, I called the police, they went to his house and did a paint match to his car ,charged the guy, then they made him come up with $500 (within the hour) to repair the damage he did to my car.

If he didn't, they were arresting him and taking him to jail.

I'd like to see a poll on something

1. How many people have had a shopping cart rammed into their car.

2. How many people have had dings from car doors opened into their car.

I bet you number 2 would win by a large margin

I don't like shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot either but then again I always try and park in the far out reaches of the parking lot with a curb on one side so at least only one side of my cars is exposed.

BUT,

The funniest part of this thread to me is every time Wally World is mentioned I can't help but think of the Griswold's driving cross country to go to Wally World, the amusement park in National Lampoon's Vacation. That was a funny movie.

I assume the wally world you all speak of though is some sort of store?

It's a term for Wal-Mart that I find almost as stupid as the store, but that's just my opinion. I just call it Walls-Mart, and that gets under people's skin plenty

There's no room for carts in our Walls-Mart parking lot. It's always full... If you're a cart butt-head out ours, you leave your cart behind someones car or whatever.

That is why I prefer to take the wife's creeper there. It has plastic bumpers and I just push the carts out of the way.

My son has been a sacker for a grocery store chain. Now he always takes the carts back to the storage areas and I have gotten a lot better about it now because of him. I do think it is just plain common courtesy to at least put the cart out of the way as best as possible. I also think that it doesn't say much for a person to say not to worry about getting a ding or two in your car or truck. To me that car or truck is an investment that I want to take care of and I don't like it that just because someone doesn't care what shape theirs is in that they think it is OK if they put a ding in mine. I like having mine look decent and it costs a lot of money anymore to get dents repaired. I have a incident years ago in the company parking lot with a gal that did the door slam with her car on my old work van. Now that old van was rusted out pretty good, but her look of indifference when she walked by ticked my off so I returned the favor. The van won out so I felt better. Wouldn't do it now, but at the time I figured what was good for the goose was good for the gander.
