Fix your E4OD for 150 bucks
Ok sometimes its not that simple but I thought I would share this info in case someone else has this problem.
I bought a 1991 F350 superduty with a 7.3L off Ebay guy said he was afraid tranny was going out. Here are the symptoms it had.
1. Hard shift from 1st to 2nd
2. OD light would stay on sometimes and would want to start out in 2nd or third gear.
3. Tranny would not lock in on highway always seemed like it was slipping.
4. Tach worked occasionally
The FIX.
1. Replace tach sensor
2. Replace and sent Throttle positon sensor
3. Replace Vehicle Speed sensor
4. This one is important and often overlooked. Replace the EEC Relay...Drivers side near winshield washer tank sometimes mounted to upper fender.
All this cost about 150 bucks in parts and now she shifts perfectly and the tranny locks in...hope this helps someone out...I got alot of the info in pieces from here so thanks
