well ill say it best i can. i have a clunk comming from my FRONT END. its sounds like a rubber mallet hitting the frame rail. it clunks once when i brake and wont again unless i release and hit the brakes again. it also happens when it goes from stop to moving some times! now its a 94 f150 4.9 2wd standard tranny, twin i beans in the front. i can tell you what its not. its not ball joints, its not steering linkage, its not the radius arm bushings or brackets, its not the shocks, its not the wheel bearings, and im pretty sure not the brakes. it only things i can think of is 1) the i beam bushings where it bolts to the frame, or 2) the engine mounts but i dont think its the mounts because the cluck isnt throttle sensitive. like it doesnt change when i hit the gas or let up. it doesnt make a difference weather its in neutral or drive its all the same. not things i have questions about it the drivers side ball joints. i know they are pressed in and have to be flush (flat) on the metal. it gets wierd, on the top of the upper ball joint there is an un-even lip on it like it was not pressed square into the axle. but if you look at the bottom of it, the lip it evenly pressed in. possible problem? well offer up any thing you have to offer. stuff to check or look for, any thing will be apriciated
