Frame differences
What are the differences if any between 1/2 ton 4wd and 2wd frames? When i say fame I mean the main frame of the chassis not axles and springs and such.

Chris, it is my understanding that the 4X4 chassis is narrower than the 2X4.

Frame differences
73 to 79 model trucks have different engine crossmembers. The 4x4's have a larger squared crossmember. Where as the 2 wheelers have a more stamped looking crossmember which the I-Beams bolt to. I am not sure if this applies to pre-73 trucks though.
