help with a tranny

I have a 04 6.0L running all the same mods that everyone does (air intake exhaust and programmer)

I have been having a ton of problems with the transmission I am running the Edge stuff I only run it on #3 and have gone throught 3 trannies and looks like it is soon to be a 4th the first one and the second had a little to do with Ford as they knew that they had a prob but had not released th parts to fix it to Canada at that time the last one that I wrecked I completly burned the froward clutches and filled the thing with metal

it is starting to slip again now mostly on the 3-4 shift what mods are guys putting in to help the tranny out or is a whole new built up tranny my only option

thank you for any help that you can give

Sounds like you need to contact your programmer company. This is the first I have heard of tranny trouble to that extreme even with mods. You never said what are you driving habits? Towing? Lift? Tires? Regeared?

Edge will do it every time..

Get a custom tuned SCT and then look for a SunCoast kit or a John Woods kit (through Biava Performance). If you need help on the custom tuned SCT, let me know. I will point you in the right direction.

my truck is stock save for 33's

and the Planetary's were the prob all 3 times the pins backed out into the clutches and filled the tranny full of metal and the tranny sliped so bad that it burned the forward clutches the one tranny only lasted 5000 kms

my driving habbits are 90% city with 5% trailer towing and the trailer loaded is under 8000lbs the rest would be highway

I called Edge about it and the only thing they told me was that it looks like my tranny can not handle #5 and to just not run it that high

so is Edge just a poor choice and how much better is this SCT going to be and will a need to run a gauge pod in the pillar with this

thank you for your help

if you go with sct you could run the edge on level 5 with a stacked tune designed to program your tranny to handle the extra power from that level 5 by adjusting locking pressure and shift points or you could just get rid of the edge and have a tuner make you a program that could do what the edge does and program your tranny by its self except you need to get the pillar gauges. I still have both and like the low end power of the edge on level 5 which ive been running straight for over a year now and after I got the suncoast kit it shifted beautifully untill ofcourse the planetary took a dive. But even then with that stack tune with a stock tranny and a heavy foot the tranny doesnt stand a chance I dont care whos stack tune you have. My stock tranny with the stock tune lasted me about 4 months.
