two questions
Hi I have two more questions about my 62 221, Firstly I need to know what thread the bolts are? I was told they may be UNC Is this true? also I have bought some high temperature spray paint (aerosol) I would like to paint my exhaust manifolds with it but don't know what temperature they will get to, I once used some high temp paint on one of my first cars a ford sierra, painted the manifold and when it got hot it smelt like onions for ages, this is higher temp than that stuff though, thanks in advance, rick

Rick, most of those bolts should be UNC but there are a few that should be UNF.
Figure 1200º F on the manifolds. There's a fairly new ultra-high temp paint by VHT called Flame-Proof that's supposed to be good to 1500º in some cases. I've used it on some headers but haven't fired the engine yet so I can't give a thumbs up or down on the stuff at this point.

thanks for the reply I was just making sure on the threads before I went out and bought a tap and die set, the paint I have is only good till about 930 F so I'll look out for the Flame proof stuff don't want that onion smell again turns heads for the wrong reason, thanks for your help, rick
