Every time I read threads like this I am glad I have an older truck and can still use a hydraulic controller. My $60 Tekonsha still works perfectly. When I purchased the truck, it had an electronic controller on it, one fast stop on a rough road surface was all it took for it to come off.

Well, it's way more than $60 but the Brakesmart is a hydraulic controller. That's why people are willing to pay the high price for it. Glad I found mine used on eBay at a significant discount. I think it came from a wrecked F350. I didn't know Tekonsha had made a hydraulic controller before designing Towcommand for Ford. The only old hydraulic controllers I had ever heard of were Kelsey-Hayes.

I went through about every brand of control out there (except Jordan)trying to get something that worked as good as my old hydraulic controller. Thats how I ended up with a BrakeSmart and works as good if not better.
