So they send what the want to be made, and how many of them to foriegn companys, who then make, and ship the part back to Ford assembly plants through out the world.it all boils down to one, american car. Once the car is made, it is ford property, ford is an american company. Cars, designed, and at one time owned by american company is an american car....
Thats like saying a honda civic is an american car, or not fully japanese, souly becuase usa makes some of the parts on the car. The japanese company makes the profets off the car, so its japanese. Period.

Toyota vs Ford-Toyota.
Although the Toyotas are a little smaller and have thier quirks like every vehicle, they own in the area that matters. Drivetrain. Thier engines and trannys are among the best hands down.
I've been a Ford fan all my life. My Ranger 2.9 5speed 4x4 was tough as nails. Took that mill to 7000RPM regularly. It never burned oil, was powerful enough, and had about 147000 miles on it.
Then my 94 f150 5.8 auto 4x4 had the E4OD go out at like 96000.
Now my 2000 f150 has a terrible miss that started at 75000. I think it's a head gasket.
Both trucks were not abused.
Maybe the older Fords were built better. Like I said, you couldn't hurt that old Ranger. The pushrod engines lasted forever as did the legenary 4.9. The manual trannies also lasted forever and the C series trannies were tough as nails.
The newer trucks seem to be half effort engineered and/or built. It's not uncommon to replace a Ford auto under 100K. It's not common but it's also not uncommon for the modular engines to launch plugs. It's not uncommon for the 6.0 diesel to break down. Toyota doesn't have these problems.
That's my .02. If Toyota brings out a full size diesel HD truck, you bet that I'll be looking at one. But I'll also consider Ford, Dodge, and Nissan.

Took it to 7,000 rpm???? Im surprised it could even go that high. I know they made the tach end at 7, which is all the way in the orange, but i never new the engine was actually capable of hitting it. I get nervous to get near red line, sence this motor is screaming at 4,000 rpm
I don't think that my Ranger even had a tach until I put it in. And yes, 7000 fairly often trying to turn those 33 inch meats with 4.56 gears. The friggin dash would rattle. That truck was a tank. I was on a muddy hill in like 3rd or 4th gear, speedo reading like 55 and reving 3-4K not moving. The D28 was locked and only gave out twice. Once when stock and once when lifted.

lol If you saw where 7,000 was on the stock tach was, you prolly wouldnt go that high, lol
4.26 ???? wow, i had no idea the engine was able to turn 33's with that gear ratio. guess the 2.9 is more torquey then i thought
