manual steering

I have a 1977 F-150 two wheel drive. I want to convert it to manual steering, please don't ask. What year manual steering boxes can I use to swap in, also do I need the shaft? If this swap is possible does anyone know where I can get a new or rebuilt box?

Matt, We wont ask, but instead presumne that you are running a high fever. Any steering gear box from 65-79 will work along with shaft from the column.

After you have completed the changeout, you can drop off the power gear, pump, cooling line, pumpbracket, and pulley at my shop in Durham NC. I'd be happy for you not to have to bother with taking them to proper disposal. ;-)

John,
I want ask either. I just bought a 1967 with manual brakes and
steering. First thing I wanted to do was switch, which Im in the
process of doing now. Im out here in Washington State, but originally from NC. Think UNC has a chance against Dook? After
the miracle comeback against Maryland, don't know if those guys
will ever lose.

John,
Thank-you for your information. I suppose I do owe you an explanation though. My truck is two wheel drive, it will never see big mud tires, and there is nowhere in Bismarck, North Dakota that I will ever have to parallel park, or any where else in this state. Also, I am sick and tired of leaky gear boxes and pumps. I also have a 1976 Four wheel drive with steering that keeps me busy enough.

Don't forget, a manual steering column and a power steering one are different lengths, due to the difference in sterrling box size..
