computer?
I have a 1988 ford f-250. I'm wondering if it has a computer in it, and if so, where can i find it? I am curious becuause i'd like to hook up my laptop to it, like some peopel i know do with their newer cars.

Welcome to FTE. If you have a gasoline engine, you should have a computer under the dash, near the parking brake pedal assembly. As for hooking up your laptop to it,well, that'd be something I'd know little about...

To hook your puter up you either need to go to fordfuelinjection.com and buy the sneev-IV box or be a computer guru. I have a sneec box that I would consider selling if you are interested PM me

If all you want to do is scan for fault codes, then you can buy a $20 scan tool from your local parts store. If you want to datalog real time engine info, then that's a different story. There's software out there that will allow you to do that, however, you'll need to check to see if the PCM in your rig has a DCL output so the PC/software can read, display and save engine data.
