For a start, WELCOME to the site!!!

Now if I recall correctly the Blackwood was Lincolns version of the F150 with the 4V 5.4l

What kind of Supercharger are you looking for? A Centrifugal type supercharger could be fitted easily, and I know of one other user on here (who I will get to chime in) who has a Navigator (with a 4V 5.4) with a Kenne Bell

thnaks for your reply. Yes, the blackwood is a pick up truck version of the navigator. I am not sure of the motor's spec's other than 300hp rating. i don't know enough about superchargers to know what I should be thinking about. What do you think?

For a truck, that is probably going to run lower boost levels, I would probably go for a positive desplacement type supercharger (either a twin screw or a Roots)

Check out the Read First in this forum, and that may be able to help you with your choice.

If you have any questions regarding it, feel free to ask

i like the twin screw version. I have heard a bit about whipple but there is so many others available, roush, etc. How do I choose? Is such an item bought with all necessary components or do I have to worry about sensors, programming, and other stuff I don't know anything about?

I think you will (unfortunately) find there aren't so many others available for a DOHC 5.4l.
The only one I am aware of is Kenne Bell, as far as I am aware, neither Rousch or Whipple make a supercharger suitable for the DOHC 5.4.

Hello 563king! I'm the individual BF350 was talking about. If you go to the Kenne Bell web site, you will see there is an application for the Blackwood. I love the S/C on my Navi and it was a blast for me to put it on.

Do you have someone in mind to do the install or are you going to try it yourself? I can speak to the KB products, there are others here that can speak to others.

Let's start with this question: what is your motivation for supercharging?

hmmm. Wipple doesn't?

Another option is to acquire a 8-71 blower of your choosing, often used on 350cid-ish small blocks (ford, GM, Mopar) and make an intake.

The easy way is to mill off the top of an aluminum intake that fits your engine, and mill off the bottom of an old 8-71 intake, and tig weld the two together. Obviously there is some work lining things up but it's been done. Not for the 5.4L engine specifically, but hacking two intakes together has been done.

The problem with that frederic is that they don't state that its suitable for the 32V version (which this Gentleman has).
I am not sure if the intake is different (I know MY 4V 5.4l is different, not overly familiar with the Navi/Blackwood version) - so my take is that if they don't say on the website that its suitable it isn't suitable... (could be worth enquiring with them though)

Fair enough, point taken.

BTW, the 32V Blackwood 5.4L engine is configured the same as all the 32V 5.4L engines, so the labeling of the body of the truck is fairly irrelevent. Aside from interior, seating, labeling and colors, the blackwood is an F150 with some extra wiring for the fancy electronic do-dads.

Hope that helps...
