ok i am thinking of starting a new project this time i am thinking of using an extended cab70's model it is either a 78 or 79 not sure yet the cab is off a 2wd 400 auto not sure if was 1/2 or 3/4 my ? does any one know the diffrence in the length of the cabs how much longer is the ext. cab than the regular cab
I once saw a S'Cab on a short box chassis. They had to cut the box down quite a bit in front to make it work, and it just didn't look right... Not sure what it would do with a long box reg cab. Try it out on Photoshop and see how it looks. I think it's 133 " vs 155" wheelbase.

22" difference between standard and supercabs. I checked a series of measurements a while back and if I remember right you could put a supercab on a frame from a regular cab longbed truck and then swap in a short bed. The rear axle has to be moved a few inches to recenter it but that's not hard to do.
thanks guys for the info right now i am just playing with the idea of combining a few trucks to see what comes out i have a sb frame and lb frame so now that i have some numbers i can start drawing things up thanks again
I finally got my 76 supercab body on my 78 singlecab longbed frame...it looks like a short bed would fit pretty easily just like Ivan said, but im not going that route...but there is definitley plenty of room between the cab corners and the rear wheels....im gonna post pics when i can get around to fabbing up some body mounts to bolt it down and level it out, its just sitting on the frame now to keep the city code enforcement people off my a$$......
Well i went ahead and took pics even thought the cab isnt completely straight on the frame yet, but this with the numbers Ivan gave ya should give you a good idea of what your asking..both of my trucks are longbed singlecab frames...i lined up the axles so that these first two pics can show the length difference...remember the brown truck has a toolbox at the front of the bed... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72...Picture013.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72...Picture012.jpg
