my 96 ranger has been squealing from the cam gear for a couple weeks. if i spray it with a lub. it will stop but then it will just come back. any ideas. please help bc this noise is driving be crazy...!
Sounds like the seal is making the noise, has it moved out and is rubbing on pulley?
Your going to have to pull the cover to find out. Or when you spray it do get whatever
your using on something else. Advise us all. Thanks.
Check the pulley to be sure the teeth are clean. While there check the seal as previously noted. Also check to see if the belt is rubbing and in good condition.
It's the tensioner. I have the exact same squeal on mine. I have the timing belt off right now and I will roll that tensioner and I get a squeal out of it.
