Oh don't get me wrong, I love Adams, I'm from Tennessee. West Tennessee, but I know the central region well. Clarksvegas is just not a great town, and Hopkinsville is a lot worse. Both cities are full of retired military, that didn't want to be there in the first place. Clarksville has turned around compared to 10 years ago though.
As far as being a good officer, just remember, its ok for you to work to. I always respected the officers that worked there way up from enlisted positions. They never minded working, but they expected you to do the same. For me, thats the hallmark of a good officer.
I'm a junior in HS and a Cadet Captain. Division Chief over the Supply Division. Commander of the Male Colour Guard, Co-ed Colour Guard, Performance Colour Guard, First Year Regulation Unarmed Drill Team, a Sabre Duo, Solo, and the radio controlled model airplane flying group. Member of the Armed Drill Team.
I'm planning on going into the Army to fly helicopters, will do my best to get to Iraq.
Both grandfathers were in the Army in World War II. One got out after Korea, the other transfered to the Air Force and then retired out.
Various uncles have been in at points, three went to Vietnam. My dad was going to go but finished high school a year late so didn't see a point in enlisting.
I have a cousin who's been to Iraq, transferred units to go back, blew his knee out, he's home now but trying to get into another unit to go back. It's all he loves.
Just thought i would throw this out there and maybe get some good feedback. Just wanna see who served and if you went to war at any point let us know. I did 6 months over there and lost a wife over it......she wasnt cut out for it. I'm an Air Force guy but all my respect to anyone who is/has worn the uniform and served.
sorry to hear that, i couldn't be with my wife for 6 months because the U.K. refused to issue her a visa to live with me(she's russian), of course you all know what i thought on that.
i did 9 years in the Navy and got out last june, was on a submarine and some security duties in Europe region.
i support everyone in the forces that belong there and those who former served and those who wanted to serve but couldn't for reasons beyond their control.
