I need more power
I have a 1985 f-150 4WD, my 300 has no power at all. in 4-low it seems to pull fine but on the highway its terrible. small hills kill me, i gear down and put the gas to the floor, and nothing, a kid on a bike could beat me up a hill. can someone please help!!!

i had to replace the pipe anyway, it was rusted out, well i cut the cat off and drove it up the road, it still has no power going up hill.
ps. i dont need any smog stuff were i live so the cat was coming off anyway, what else should i look at?

timing good, new igntion mod. new wires and plugs, new fuel filter, the dist. may be to advance or retarded. if thats so wouldn't i be able to feel lack of power all the time even in 4WD?

I am going to feel really stupid asking this but what does Efi Stand for?
I am sorry to hear your truck has no power, my buddy used to have a F-150 and it didnt ever have any power either, my OLD ford i used to have had all kinda power never had any problems with the engine in that thing. 3 on the tree I sure do miss it wish I would have keep it for parts but my dad made me get rid of it to a junk yard, its long gone now.

Ya, I agree with havi, are your tires oversized? If they are, they may be too big for your current gearing. New gears would be in order, unless you want to downsize. But if you have stock size tires then disregard this.
