Your all's help has been very helpful in getting me on the road. I forgot to ask yesterday about the oil pan. I have a 69' block with a front oil pan pickup. Can I use this one or will I have to look for a rear sump pickup? To tell you more to get the right answer, I have a 77' F-100 2wd with a blown 302 that has a rear pickup.

thnx,
Shawn

Im thinking the rear sump pan is needed. Try Summit Racing for the pan and pickup tube, or check the bone yards for a used pan.

We have a swapped a 460 into a 77 F150 2WD truck in place of a 351M. We used a front sump oil pan from a mid 70's F250. A car front sump oil pan will fit also, its just that the drain plug is on the side instead of the rear. There is lots of clearance between the crossmember and pan, if you use the 460 factory engine mounts from a F250. Just make sure the oil pan drains to the rear. Only 460, 429 oil pans will fit. Use a stock pump and pickup for this application. We found all these parts at local junkyards.
