I was hoping to get some help on finding some good places to find a 347 stroker kit. I have a 91 F150 and I want to get more torque out of it. I was also hoping to find a good place to get some new gears for both the front and the rear. I was planning on putting on 38.5s or 40s so i would need something in the range of 4.88 gears. Any help would be much appreciated! - Andrew
Do a google search for Ford Stroker Kits, there's a bunch of companies making them. There is a very nice 347 Stroker short block available from Ford in the SVT catalog. Lots of options on the stroker kits on crankshafts, rods, and pistons. I used one of the Scat crank, I Beam rods, hypereutectic pistons kits, works great on the street....Do the search and decide which parts you want, and how much you want to spend. Updated heads on your '91 would help a bunch, too.
well to fit those tires you gonna need to do a 1 ton axle swap as well. the 4.88 still may be to hi geared 5.13's would be better choice. to run the stroker your gonna have to convert to mass air or get a lightning ecu and a tweecer which is close to the same cost.
why not do a 5.8 swap its cheaper, direct bolt in. and on stock axles i wouldnt run anything larger then a 36" tire and that size would go good with 4.88's
I just bought my 347 stroker kit from northernautoparts.com. Their kit included a Scat crank, Scat I-beam rods, and Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons. It's the same set up as many other places and I found it to be the runaway kit as far as costs for that exact set-up...only $680 plus only about $8-10 shipping! You can't touch that price anywhere else. I'm looking for a good cam, head, intake set now.
