Timing question?

Timing question?

What do I have to take off to get to the Timing chain? just the valve cover or do I have to take off the water pump? helop me out here I don't know what I have to do to get to the timing chain in a 300I6. Thanks for you help.

Oh by the way the engine is a 75' in a ford F-150 79'.

Actually the 300s used a gear driven timing set. All you need is to remove the harmonic balancer/crank pulley, 3 oil pan bolts, and 10 or 12 bolts that hold the front cover, remove it and your all set. I would remove the fan just so you have a little more room to work...aside of that it friggin hurts when you scuff your knuckles on the fan blades.
