brake question

I'm installing power brakes on my 71' from a 79', do I have to use the same prop valve off of the 79', or could I just skip it altogether? Also the spindles, will they adapt to my I-beams or not? The old ones are just a pain to remove, so I was going to torch them off just after the pins! Adding them to my beams w/new pins.

If you are doing the disc conversion you will need the proportioning valve. Are you talking f100/150 spindles? You might not now but, there were a few different trucks made in 1971 and 1979.

The donor is a 1979 f-150, the other is a 1971 sport custom.

Yes, anything from 73-79 f100 or f150 will fit. If you buy new kingpins, buy for the year of spinde you will be using.
