don't use stans! it causes a flutter in the exhaust. get the one from summit like monsta used. it's made by flow master and is much more like a true header 2 into one , where stans y dumps on top of the other and causes the flutter.

did some digging for you the part number you want is from summit racing. it's a flow master FLO-Y250300 cost is $39.88 type in the number it shows the photo
you can use a fm 50 big block or a 70 all depends on how you want the sound,i have a 70 on now ,tryed a 40 to loud inside the 50 better ,great out side for my old fart ears the 70 is perfect

I have to disagree that Stan's Y causes flutter. Yes I know have a slight flutter after installing the y, but I think it is ultimately caused by the lame factory exhaust manifolds. The gentleman above wants to do the Stan's plus Gibson headers. I say go for it. It would definately answer whether the stock exhaust manifolds were the root cause or not.

yes i know both you and skip had it after a stans pipe job. but yet monsta seems not not to ? 2 guys get it! 1 dosn't . 2 of 3 get flutter. i'd be more inclined to go flow master doing the same job .
same with the headers the gibson work as well as my high priced ford racing ones . i'd rather have the 300 in my wallet for some other toy or gas for a while.

I have the Gibson style Tiawan headers and a FM 70. Stock rams horn Y pipe with no restriction. It seems fairly quiet to me. You can hear it more at idle that driving down the road. Although the other day I was driving though a tunnel in DC and floored it, it startled me and was louder than i thought. But it's still that same V10 sound.

I get flutter at certain RPMs and throttle settings. I couldn't hear it at first. Now when I try I can hear it.

Well now that Monsta has flutter too, I hope fordboy2 proceeds with his setup. That should be the answer to whether or not it is the exhaust manifold design or not.

time to sit back and wait to see the big IF and DOSE or NOT. best thing is down here in the v10 area is every one of our personal mistakes can or dose help the next guy to avoid that problem and build a better truck. plus save cash in the long run
ok monsta says a little . thats still better then dose have. lets wait this one out before makeing any more errors in judgement.

I should note that I only really hear it if the windows are down and I'm passing a immovable object like a wall or something. I couldn't even tell you the RPM/throttle position that does it.

I do not think it hurts anything but is only and annoying characteristic of the V10.
