If you pay $35,000 for a truck plus TTL (assume 5%) and put 10% down then you are financing about $33,000. Here are your monthly payments:
3 years @ 5% interest = $989 @6.5% = $1011**
4 years @ 5% interest = $760 @6.5% = $783
5 years @ 5% interest = $623 @6.5% = $645
If you get 0% financing, then just divide the financed amount by the number of payments (5 years @ 0% = $550/month).
**As an interesting side note - The payments on a quarter of a million dollar house with 20% down financed for 30 years @ 6.5% would be only $250 more per month than this payment!
These trucks (any $35K auto) are expensive to drive. Especially considering that a house generally appreciates and this truck will lose several thousand a year in value.
Youre right, my mortgage is about about $100 more then my truck payment...and I dont own a million dollar house!
To me, driving that truck around is worth every penny. I'd blow the money someplace else if I didnt have that truck...
I bought a 2004 F-350 single rear wheel, 6.0, 4X4 with Limited Slip, CC cab, short bed, in the fall of 04 (Sept). List was 44K, I got it for 36K and put down $25k got my truck payment down to just over $300 Just couldn't come up with enough cash to pay it off.
I can't wait hopefully end of summer or so.....try to get the last of the 06's hopefully they will have some great deals on them.....thanks everybody for responding....and congrats to everyone here on their awesome deals they got....
Couldn't beat the credit union at 4.5 percent money over 72 months with no money down. The banks wanted 8 percent and 20 percent down. It's good to go into the dealership with that pre-approved loan in your pocket. You know how much you're good for and you don't pull out that draft until the deal is done and you fill in the blanks... and the X plan is a wonderful thing if you can get it, some people can negotiate a lower price, but then you go through all the b.s. and song and dance with the sales manager about price, etc. X-plan price is set by Ford, no add on charges, if the dealer adds any accessories you don't want they have to take them off. No dealer prep fees, documentation fees, or other such garbage either. Ford considers that a cost of doing business. Just the price of the vehicle, tax, title, and tag and hand over the check.
