You know you are gonna have fun in the military when a person asks you and five other people to put your toes on a line, drop your drawers, and grab your ankles
Don't worry about your lack of bowel movements in the first two weeks of bootcamp, they will eventually start happening again. I don't know why, but a large group of our 80 man company stopped pooping for about week. Very strange phenomenon.
Don't know how Infantry Boot is, but the NAVY version was like summer camp in grade school -
Except that at the far end I didn't go home. I just kept travelling onward!
A good life for someone who gets bored staying in one place for too long.
I still don't sing well enough to carry a note in a bucket. But nobody can tell the difference when there are ninety of you all belting out "Anchors Aweigh!" while marching in column file under a bridge!!!
Great Lakes was fun...

This is a common phenomenon associated with the inprocessing procedure. We call it the "poop pucker." Although science hasn't been able to pin-point the exact cause, it is believed to be the result of the exuberance exhibited by your drill instructor/father figure during the initial training sessions.
The quickest way to get rid of this problem is to remember the drill instructor is just as full of **it as you are. Hence the term "diahhrea of the mouth."
my best wishes and thanks for your service. God bless you sir. you will be in our prayers. don't listen to the mainstream. you guys & girls are soooo appreciated by MOST americans. what you do is honorable and right. there are millions of people behind you all dispite what you hear on the big 3 networks. hell i think most of the 300000 members here are supporting you. and thats a good cross section of real people
Man I was way nervouse going into MEPS. But once I got there it was no biggie.
Your gunna love Ft Benning, I did. I went in the summer of 03. Coming from Central Texas the heat and humidity didnt bother me much, but we think our skeeters are big!
Yea we called it the crap factor. Dont know if it was the initial stress, the MRE's, the DFAC, or a combo it it all, but I dont think I took a dump for the first 2 weeks or so either.
I'm sitting here alternately laughing about the "poop pucker" stories and feeling my heart just swell with pride over you guys' comments about being so proud to serve. No wonder we have the greatest military in history. Thank you all former, current and future soldiers.
I remember the duck walk in undies. The ,"grab your ankles" experience was funny.
Our doctor had us all sit on a little bench, then called us, one by one, into his office. While the first guy was in there, he had him scream, and beat on the walls. The rest of us had to sit on a bench, in our undies, waiting for our turn. Then when the guy came out, he was holding his butt, and walked out of the room.
Well, turns out the doc was having a funny day. He just had us bend over and spread um, and took a nice long look at the brown eye. Still I'll always remember that.

Ha ha! Yes-the same thing happened in my platoon. I didn't poop for 9 DAYS!! A personal record. I almost broke it my first week in Iraq, though. 7 days with no bowel movments. something about an overflowing outhouse in 130 degree heat just made me want to "hold it".
Sounds like you are in for a trip. I am nearing the end of my 4 years with the coast guard. Boot camp was tough but so is siling out on the ocean seeing nothing for weeks. Have had some great experiences, sure you will also.
Not! lol. I froze my butt off. I have never felt cold wind like that. The people who live up there and deal with it everyday are much better than me. I was supposed to go to Orlando, but they closed it the month before I was scheduled to leave...
I went back to MEPS on Friday and signed my papers and took the oath. I got a slot a month earlier, July 5th, and I will be back right before Thanksgiving.
