Thats sortta what I was thinkin,,,, But I really like to see the old fenders grafted on the newer box. I also thinke its important to find a box that some what matches the contour of the cab... I sure am asking a lot..
I had asked him about this bed and it is not his. If I remember correctly, I don't think he knows anyting about the pic.
I don't know if it was the same truck, but I saw an F-100 at Goodguys this weekend with the same bed. It looks alike an S-10 bed with the fenders welded on. It drove by and I watched it go down a few rows but couldn't find it to take pics. It looked sharp and the body side looked to match pretty well with the body shape of the cab.
I've also seen a truck that used the bottom/back section of a panel and made a bed from that. it was really sharp also.
Good Luck!
Kent, the truck from my gallery is not yet done and is still in the greater Denver area according to my sources. The guy is some sort od metal worker, and you remember correctly, I do not know the guy. I took the picture at a carshow last year. It sure got lots of attention. Gavin
cbfomoco,
Thanks for the pic, I've seen that truck before , just not enough fender grafted on for my taste.
Kent,
I have talked with Gavin about that truck, that is right in line with what I'm considering, I like the looks of the fenders, Just not sure of the seems down the side and the tail lights, but its the closest i've seen to my idea.
I like it....... old threads, they never die, just come back with new thoughts...
Thanks
Man, I didn't even look at the date on the original post! Oh well, I'm usually kinda slow anyway. I wish I had spent more time searching out the truck I saw on friday.
I'd like to see more detail on how the area between the running boards and under the bed, in front of the fenders was handled. Tail lights could always be covered and relocated in the roll pan.
Mike, The truck is looking great, dont change the bed, change the fenders. I friend of mine put on a set of 55, or 56 chev. rear fenders, looks pretty tough.

Thanks Kyle, Hows the clutch linkage holdin up ?
I'm actually am looking at 93 and up Ranger boxes. They seem to have a contour that could be workable. I would have to narrow the box some for my applacation in order to graft the amount fender on that I want. I have a few more trips to the salvage yard before I buy one.
Mike, The linkage has held up great so far, Still need to make a new rod, but you know how that goes, I need to to do alot of things. Keep me updated on your progress. I dig the lights on the gravel pan, visor is looking good too.
