FMX to C6

OK now i'm confused , my 71 stang had a fmx in it and my 67 F250 had a fmx look a like but it had a shift pattern like a cruise o matic and the fmx trans pan gasket will not fit. This trans was factory installed in my truck. My repair manual calls it a H.D. MX , any Ideas on what it is.It is a very strong tranny with hard shifts , I took it out to put a C-6 in because I drag race my truck and I had to leave to tranny in drive1 when I race and then shift to low after it shifted into 2nd and after I redlined 2nd then I shifted back into D1.What a pain.

FMX to C6

Terry, It's been a few days since that bucket was kicked. You may go to stockmans site http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/tbeeee/page/index.htm and see if he still has the tranny pan ID page still up. Seems I recall there being more than one FMX tranny. You have the Cruise-O-Matic, Ford-O-Matic, & maybe a couple of others.

Try using the search engine, and see what you can find here.
