Not going to have time to restore my 70 F-250 4x4 this summer like I'd planned but I need to get it in tip-top mechanical shape to do a ton of long distance heavy towing in a month or so. I'm sandblasting the frame, riveting in a 205 transfercase support rod from a 77 f-250 4x4 and painting the frame with epoxy primer and flat black urathane equipment enamel. Question- I can't seam to find replacement body mounts for 67-72 year trucks. I don't see any benefit of polyurathane mounts on a 4x4 truck and I'd like to go with a quality factory rubber replacement style mount. Anybody have any advice? Also, I desperately need replacement transfercase rubber mounts. I am upgrading to a 205 case and can't seam to track down mounts for the t-case. Thanks.
Prothane makes mounts for the 205 case, their the same ones as the Dana spicer 24 providing your staying with the divorced setup. Also the prothanes are 1/2 the price of the factory rubber ones. You can also find the mounts at jeffs bronco graveyard. I paid 25 bucks for my poly set. Also have the prothane body mounts on my crewcab and have had no problem with them and like the fact that they don't sag or seem to show any sighns of wear.
Do the prothane mounts come with the captured nut like the factory ones??? I'm staying divorced case. Only reason for going 205 is the strut rod. Can't seam to keep the 24 from deflecting under heavy towing. I built a strut rod for it, but it just isn't as good as the factory 205 rod design. Thanks.
