transmission woes :(
Ok this is my first post. Seems like a great site with alot of information so heres my problem.
Me being the retard that I am had to swap mazda transmissions since i really did a number on my old one. I get the new one all installed. Start it up, cant shift into ANY gear. it will KIND of go into 5th but not really.
I dont think the transmission i purchased is bad but i *DID* however have to swap the gear selector plates from the old transmission to the new transmission. Im thinking that where the gear selection isnt aligned properly between where the new trans is at now (whatever gear it was in when it was removed) and the neutral that the gear selector plate is in.
So my question is, is there anyway to tell by looking into the belly of the transmission underneath the gear plate where the selector rings need to be for neutral?
