I recently purchased a 1947 f-1 (I think) pick-up. Did this year have factory installed turn signals??? I will need New York inspection and may need to install them.
Red47, welcome to FTE. Hope we can help you out, lots of good info here.
The '47 did not have factory installed turn signals. They are an easy converison though. Just replace the sockets in the parking lights with double contact sockets and order a turn signal switch from an old Ford place. Most sell a universal style that clamps to the steering column.
A '47 will have a VIN starting with a 7 if yours is a '47 (ex: 799Cxxxxxx)
Turn signals didn't became law until around 1953 at least in Indiana. (don't hold me to the date) I remember my father purchasing and installing a kit on our 51 chevy. I was about 10 in those days. Sometimes you see some of the old trucks with those big turn lights mounted on the front fenders. I think they were added later. 46fordtruck is correct. Anyway thats my two cents worth.
