Question How to stop it?

My truck ideling leaves little or no oil on the dust cover but drive it, it leaks a fair amount. PCV is good. What is going on? After oil pan gasket replacements. I'm getting tired of the darn oil pan. The guy who helped me to the pan job. Was like if it is bone dry everywhere else on the oil pan gasket then ???????? it is dry everywhere but the back of the oil pan. He thinks rear main(?) it was not doing this before. and the rear main is new in the rebuild. Why would it be coming down the dust cover???? Then, he said look at the valve cover gasket, He never did or helped do an oil pan that leaked like this. He has rebuilt countless 350's, 400's Studi 289's, 318/360's Not had a problem with any, and I have seen his trucks. Guess I'm the first. Or my valve cover gasket is leaking down, but at that rate???????

The reason that the oil is running down the dust cover for your tranny is because the inline six sits with a slight lean to the back of the truck. Check your push rod cover and your valve cover gaskets. This engine can leak in the very front and it will run down the dust cover of the tranny because of the slope of the engine and the air pushing past the engine while driving.

The push rod gasket is dry as is the timing cover and valve cover. For now
