Some Different 9" Questions
1) When I was pullin on the drivers side axle it felt solid like I was hitting something in the pumpkin. I thought maybe gears or something were stuck or bolted to the axle shaft so I didn't try to force it. Can I safely go back and try to give it a couple of good hard yanks to see if it will come out of the pumpkin assembly? (I need to replace a leaking axle fluid seal.)
2) Can I have both axles out at the same time or will gears or anything become unaligned or mis-meshed in the pumpkin? ( I want to get both bearings replaced and pressed on at the same time.)
3) I would like to put a mini-spool in there eventually. When I do that will I have to remove the axles? If so, will I have to replace the axle seals again? (I don't want to have to duplicate efforts if it's possible.)
yes
yes and no
there is nothing in there for them to be hitting on so yank them out.
you can have both out, i know for a fact becuase i have had both out.
to put the mini spool in there you have to pull the 3rd member and to do that you have to pull the axles because the carrier and every thing comes out so if you dont take the axles out then the 3rd member wont come out. i didnt replace the seals on mine when i pulled them and it aint leaking so you should be fine.
