Also how about a transmission jack adapter? It's an adapter that turns one of my floor jacks int oa transmission jack. Has anyone ever uesed them? They are about 25.00
I have never used a trans jack personally and don't know of anyone who has. But it does sound like it might be useful. As to where you can get a trans jack, I got mine at a store called Harbor Freight. Their website is http://www.harborfreightusa.com I guess it is also possible that they have a store near you. Good Luck.
i had purchased one of the tranny adapter that takes the place of the little cup on my floor jack. Just take out the littl cup and the adapter just sits in place on floor jack. all though the only problem i had was even though i had a 4"lift in my old bronco, the tranny and floor jack combo was still too bulky to completely pull out from under the bronco
Also from what i understand of the E4OD tranny is that it is basically an elelctronically controled C6 tranny with an overdrive gearing built into it. kinda why it is so big. one of the things i also heard for doing the rebuild is to put a new pump into it that has a casting build date of 1995 or 1998. There have been a lot of upgrades throught the life span of the E4OD. which apperently could be put into any of the these trannys of any of the years.
Give this guy a try, his name is Gregg Evans, Factory Tech Transmissions, 6818 Midnight Sun Drive, Maineville Ohio. I don't have his # but you should find it in information.
He builds what he call a "Monster Box". A lot of guys put them in their Lightnings. I bought a valve body from him for my lightning last year, and everone I spoke with last year said that he is the best on the E4OD trans.
I know the Monster Box is pricey, but it may be the last trans you ever buy.
Good Luck!
Indeed it is pricey, and I don't have that kind of money right now. I think I will just rebuild it at a local shop and buy the hardened parts as I get the money. Unitl then I'll drive my Bimmer. It's great having two cars!

If you buy a reman. kit for an E4OD you will get ALL of the OEM upgraded equipment. You can't buy a replacement pump that does not incorporate the upgrades unless you buy a used one (which is a ludicrous idea if you ask me anyway). I questioned the shop that rebuilt the E4OD in my 92 when I saw the itemized list of parts that were all supposedly for a much newer version of the transmission than mine. They told me then, in 2000, that the older versions of the internal components were not even being manufactured.
Basic design may be reminiscent of the C6 but being fully electronic it bears little resemblance to its older three-speed vacuum modulated cousin. Personal opinion, if it were MORE like the C6 there would be a LOT fewer threads here about repairing/rebuilding them!
So one of the parts I should replace while in there is a pump? I am going to order a buch of hardened parts to beef it up as well. It will add some weight, swapping aluminum for steel, but It will be minimal. Also what kind of transmission cooler would be reccomended for the bronco. I feel it's pretty sad, my friend has a ranger(he bought from me) and it has a transmission cooler on it why not the bronco?
I know it is built into the radiator, but I was talking about an additional one. His truck has a towing package so he has an additional tranmission cooler.
you should definately uprgade and add a second cooler, mine also has a transgo tugger kit and the upgrades done, also a rebuilt or new pump is a good idea and the atsg videos and books rock, (Removed by Admin) C&S Motorsports@gmail.com with any questions, i have rebuilt several of these trannies
