programmer Question

I have a 97 F150 4.6 auto 4x4 w/180000m. I was thinking about getting a programmer for my truck or should I not even bother with it since I have such high milage. I would like to have it to increase power and to also firm the shifts up. I plan keeping the truck for a while. What is the best tuner to get? I have looked at all the different tuners and all that will work is the superchips. All feedback welcome.

My feedback would be... If it aint broke, don't fix it. Why take the chance? But there's a lot of good info in the chips and tuners forum here.

When they make a chip that automatically makes all systems ready, I"ll be the first one in line for that one.

The superchip programmer seems to be the most popular one and does the job well. The high milage will not be a factor at all, I say go for it cause it's a pretty good mod for the price.

Thanks for the reply xtrford. To me the 4.6 just seems a little weak in power. Where is the best place to get the superchips tuner and the best price?

Where are you from? I'm up here in Canada so it may vary quite a bit from where you are from. Check out superchips.com ore simply just google it.
